The pro-Trump posts on my Facebook timeline are increasing as we near election day. Ironically though, they’re coming from alleged Christians (Evangelicals). People I thought were more in tune with Jesus and his aspirations of a livable society governed by compassion. But it turns out that’s not the case. At this point, they’re trying to remind their friends that “we’re voting for a president, not a pastor” to excuse Donald’s immorality—something that they wouldn’t have done even for Mitt Romney.
A friend of mine sent me this post that he received from one such pastor, and I found it enlightening.
"If you support Hillary, you are supporting abortion. If you support her you are supporting same sex (grammar his) marriage. If you support her, you support open borders and certain lopsided trade agreements. If you support her you Agee that it is OK for politicians to tell the public one thing while you intend to do another.
I do not like Donald Trump and I don't support his personality. But his is clearly the better agenda in my mind. He is running for president, not preacher!"
Or as another friend posted:
“May he follow through and may we hold him accountable. Pray for the leaders above us. We are not voting in a pastor, a priest or a rabbi, don't get confused, my friends and family of faith. You need to pick the best candidate that supports what you believe is best for our country”
These letters hit every talking point. “We’ll tolerate in Donald what we would never consider tolerating in any other human being.” And it’s disgusting.
I guess if there’s one positive thing to come out of this horrible, vile, and downright sleazy election (on the conservative side), that would be the exposure of Evangelicals for who and what they truly are.
They have insisted again and again that they follow "Christ," and that Jesus is their lord and savior, and yet they have consistently distanced themselves from everything Jesus commanded them to do—and instead, have lined up behind his archenemy—the guy who does the exact opposite. They have chosen to worship Satan and to bow down to his Golden Calf (scuse me… Orange Calf)...
And this time they're embracing it. They no longer fear that we can see them venerating this chosen demon. Instead, they make excuses. They worship a man who has broken EVERY commandment—again and again! And they revel in it. They flip off the press at his rallies. They shout JEW.S.A to insult the nationality of the one they used to call Lord and Savior. They chant “Lock-Her-Up” knowing full well that the very one they used to call Lord and Savior was himself falsely accused and his people chanted, “Crucify Him!”“Crucify Him!”
“Of course he’s an Antichrist, but he’s not running for pastor. Of course he’s a demon, but he’s not running for priest or rabbi.”
But he has succeeded in doing what many antichrists before him have attempted to do. He has stolen their soul (if they ever had one in the first place). Yes, finally they have embraced their true Lord, The Antichrist—while at the same time they have put all pretense aside. And they have done so the same way that the Jewish elite abandoned Jesus when he was set up and crucified.
Only there’s one YUGE difference. Jesus called out, “Father forgive them.” Their Antichrist would tweet fire and brimstone to his dying breath on every one of those “lying, crocked, rigged, losers and idiots,” who would dare ask him to do anything compassionate for someone else.
And for that, I guess the rest of us should be grateful.
- Jesus hated liars: Donald Trump lies about the lies he lying about when he’s lying. He wouldn’t know the truth if it crawled up his ass and tickled his colon.
- Jesus hated hypocrites: Yet Evangelicals support Dumpster-Trumpster wholeheartedly even though he stands for everything Jesus opposed.
- Jesus loved women, protected them, and made them part of his posse: Donald insults them, makes fun of their looks, grabs their pussies, assaults them, attempts to rape them, and treats them as if they were sex toys to be discarded when he’s done with them.
- Jesus warned about wolves in sheep’s clothing: Evangelicals have thrown open the pens and exposed themselves WILLINGLY to the wolf.
- Jesus was adamant about forgiveness, and lead by compassion: Donald is petty, vindictive, malicious, antagonistic and unforgiving… if Eve were his creation, he would have insulted her for being fat and eating his apple, and he would have banished her from Eden forever never bothering to find a solution.
- Jesus said, “Love your enemies”: Donald threatens to sue everyone who says anything bad about him. Donald Trump would sue God if God said anything bad about him.
- Jesus said, “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me”: Donald can be baited with a tweet. And he’s usually the one doing the saying of all manner of evil.
- Jesus called God his “father,” and offered his obedience to God: Donald thinks he IS God.
Jesus’ biographers once cited him as saying,
“For many will come in my name, claiming, 'I am the Messiah,' and will deceive many.”
How ironic is it that it’s Evangelicals who have fallen for this. Those who follow Jesus—the actual Jesus, would never fall for such a demon. But that’s because Jesus was about love, compassion, learning to live together, and embracing the highest good in all of us. Only those who have abandoned reality, science, and all reason—who have succumbed to conspiracy theory would be so gullible. And gullible they are.
And THIS is why Jesus called them sheep. And Donald is their shepherd.
